Ireland is promised to be a technology knowledge economy to compete on the global market. The only problem now during the recession is everyone is keeping the money for themselves. Only a few people are willing to take the risk during this period to reap the big rewards if the start up suceeds.

The only problem I see happening is as soon as a bigger company makes a bid for the startup the entrepenuer will sell out. Ireland is full of multinational companies that have no bond to the country except for great business tax. For ireland to compete on a global level it needs for irish companies to be in irish control. Then these irish companies can go abroad and take over other comapnies to expand their global presents.
